The Victoria Hotel was established in 1866 and was one of seven in the main street at the time. In the colonial days, most pubs started out as canvas tents and Cromwell was first named canvastown in the goldrush days.
The original Victoria Hotel was wooden, but burned down, as most did through having open fires and tilley lanterns in every room, and was rebuilt out of shist rock in 1878.
It is the only surviving hotel in Old Cromwell Town.
We offer Single and Twin rooms and a Self contained flat.
65 Melmore Terrace
Cromwell
There is a restaurant with seating for 120 people and a conference room for meetings of around 40 people, or maybe you would rather just soak up the atmosphere of the original shist bar room.
We also have a 10 or a 48 seater coach.
