About Cambridge Hotel

Qualmark New Zealand

The Cambridge Hotel is a newly restored heritage building. It is immensely popular for its value accommodation in the capital city.

The fantastic central location, and sympathetically restored decor, combined with hard–to–match prices, has made the Cambridge Hotel the first choice for many travellers and returning guests.

First among the guests on the hotel's re–opening were New Zealanders travelling to the capital for business or pleasure – conferences, family, weekend excursions, and shopping.

Many of these guests continue to return to the Cambridge, recognising that location and value for money are the first important considerations for any traveller. The elegant renovations with great service and cleanliness combine to bring guests back again and again.

Cambridge Hotel Rooms

With 56 overnight rooms the hotel is a more personal Kiwi experience, and the bistro and bar are host to a colourful mix of travellers and Wellingtonians, who prefer the familiarity and comfortable surroundings of a traditional bar environment as opposed to the huge variety and excitement of Courtenay Place bars and clubs, to be found right on the hotel’s doorstep.

There are a variety of ensuite rooms, and all provide Sky TV, fridge, tea/coffee–making facilities, and telephone/Internet access.

The hotel reception is open 24 hours so you may check in any time that suits you.

Cambridge Hotel Location

The Cambridge Hotel is situated on the corner of Cambridge Terrace and Alpha St, near the centre of Wellingtons nightlife and a $1 bus fare to Lambton Quay and other central locations.

A taxi from Wellington Airport will cost you a little under $20 and is 5–10 minutes away.

The Embassy Theatre, Courtenay Place and supermarket are all within a two minute walk and Oriental Bay (the newly revamped beach of Wellington) and Te Papa (Museum of New Zealand) are a 5–10 minute walk.

Other

Since its grand opening the 'Backpacker Wing' has seen a lot of faces, and set a new standard in backpacker accommodation.

The boutique experience has amazed guests with its luxury feel. Warm duvets are provided with every comfortable bunk bed, and both gas and electric heating keep the worst of the winter at bay.

Steaming hot showers soothe the spirit in a fully tiled bathroom that has become a talking point for its opulence.
